Press launch of the Absa Wildeklawer Sport Tournament

This week marked a historic day for sport in the Northern Cape in Kimberley, when we hosted the media launch of the Absa Wildeklawer Sport Tournament. The tournament will take place this year from 25 April to 2 May in Kimberley at Newton Primary School, Diamantveld High School and Kimberley Boys’ High School. “”We are looking forward to hosting this tournament this year, with 182 teams participating from 85 schools and 4,439 participants and officials being welcomed to Kimberley for this prestigious event. The event could not happen for two years due to Covid-19,” said Cassie Carstens, operations manager of the tournament.

A first for the tournament this year will be the soccer tournaments as well. Carstens said eight teams are coming to Kimberley, together with four teams from the Motsepe Foundation.
