We are incredibly proud of Pieter Russouw, who has won the prestigious 2023 Wildeklawer award for Top Performer of the Year!
As a reward for his outstanding performance, Pieter enjoyed a trip to Europe with his wife, Rusermie. They had the opportunity to visit farms and pack houses similar to Wildeklawer, gaining valuable insights and experiences that will undoubtedly benefit the Wildeklawer farming community.
“We specifically visited the Netherlands and Belgium, countries known for their pack houses. Our main focus was to explore some of the largest pack houses in both countries to gain experience on the latest technology used as well as their operating systems. The innovation and technology they employ to be more efficient and consistently deliver a high-quality product to the market is impressive,” said Pieter.
“The development of artificial intelligence, especially relating to their farming implements are remarkable. We visited the ‘Future farming & Food experience’ in Lelystad which showcased some of the latest in precision farming technology. The use of AI in both their warehouses and farming implements is truly beneficial and something we are evaluating to deliver an even better-quality product.”
He says it was very impressive to witness the machines used to remove weeds, which in future would enable Wildeklawer to further reduce the use of herbicides and thus allow for an even more environmentally friendly approach.
Pieter and Rusermie’s experience in Europe not only expanded their personal horizons but will also contribute to the continued success and excellence of our farming community.
