Following a thrilling weekend of soccer, Wildeklawer Academy’s rugby teams also stepped onto the field last Friday, competing against Douglas High School at Hoërskool Vaalrivier in Barkly West.
Teams from Wildeklawer Academy in the U15, U17 and U19 categories demonstrated determination and skill, providing exciting matches for spectators. Rugby coach Aneka Fick praised the players for their commitment and team spirit.
Rugby players at the Wildeklawer Academy train twice weekly at Hoërskool Vaalrivier, developing their skills, fitness and teamwork. On match days, 23 players are selected per team, ensuring strategic rotation and ample opportunity for participation.
Through continued training and dedicated coaching, Wildeklawer Academy’s rugby teams are steadily growing stronger, laying the foundation for future sporting success and opportunities for young players from Barkly West.
