Wildeklawer Academy shines in weekend soccer matches

The Wildeklawer School Sport Academy, officially launched on 16 May 2015, continues to create remarkable sporting and soccer opportunities for youth in Barkly West, bringing together players from various local schools.

With many schools in the area lacking sufficient funds for sports activities, Wildeklawer established the Academy to ensure every child gets a chance to develop their talent and compete at higher levels.

Last weekend, Wildeklawer Academy’s soccer teams competed in exciting matches hosted on the CBC fields. Teams from Wildeklawer, CBC and Technical High participated in the U15 and U19 categories, showcasing outstanding skill and teamwork.

The Wildeklawer U19 team delivered impressive performances and will carry their momentum forward to Bloemfontein next weekend, where they will face strong teams from Brebner and Louis Botha. Under the guidance of coach Christopher Minnies, who also coaches a successful club competing in major leagues, the team is optimistic about their upcoming matches.

Soccer players from the Academy train diligently four times a week at Hoërskool Vaalrivier in Barkly West, demonstrating commitment and passion for the game. Wildeklawer currently fields soccer teams in various age groups: U11, U13, U15, U17, and U19.

Each team consists of 20 players, ensuring everyone receives valuable playing time and equal opportunities to showcase their abilities.

Through consistent support and dedicated coaching, Wildeklawer Academy continues to empower young athletes, creating pathways to future success in sport.
