We were thrilled to see cyclists from the Kelrn MTB Classic – Wheels for Charity – riding through Wildeklawer farm as part of the event.
Now in its 11th year, this incredible event hosted 2000 attendees and saw 400 participants take part in cycling and running to support child welfare in the Northern Cape.
Founded by Kenne de Kock, owner of Kelrn Transport, in 2012, Kelrn MTB Classic has grown immensely, raising R1 million last year for seven child welfare charities. This year’s route brought cyclists through the heart of our farm, past pivot points, alongside the river and through our onion storage depot – a unique experience, showing them firsthand the dedication and scale of Wildeklawer.
Steyn Muller, chairman of the Kelrn MTB Classic, said the choice of route through Wildeklawer reflects the strong partnership Kelrn and Wildeklawer share. “We’re proud to have such an esteemed client and partner like Wildeklawer. The response from cyclists on this 100-mile route was overwhelmingly positive. We hope to offer more riders this unique experience next year.”
Wildeklawer’s Pieter Russouw said the route was chosen to showcase the farm’s environment, bringing the community closer to the Wildeklawer brand and products. “It allowed them to see Wildeklawer up close and feel connected to the work we do.”
Thank you, Kelrn MTB Classic and everyone involved, for supporting child welfare and for bringing this community event to life!
