After the weekend’s rain, the sun is back and at Wildeklawer Farm, we’re dedicated to producing top-quality, fresh produce for South Africa and beyond. With a commitment to sustainability and innovation, our crops — from onions and beetroot to maize, carrots and potatoes — are carefully cultivated to bring you the finest in South African farming.
Onions
Our onions are cultivated on a one-year cycle, with an emphasis on sourcing premium seeds from global suppliers. Louis and Cora de Kock, owners of Wildeklawer, travel annually to select the best cultivars for Wildeklawer’s conditions, ensuring onions that are naturally protected and full of flavour.
Beetroot
We grow nutritious beetroot year-round with a system of mechanised planting and hand harvesting. Each crop cycle provides consistent, fresh produce to meet market demand, all while promoting sustainable farming.
Maize
Seasonally grown, our maize are cultivated with precise watering and fertilisation for healthy, high-yield crops. Using crop rotation, we enhance soil health while delivering white and yellow maize for South Africa’s staple needs.
Carrots
Our carrots, rich in carotene, are produced year-round. Using center-pivot irrigation and crop rotation, we ensure high-quality yields, with careful harvesting supported by both mechanical and manual labor for a consistent, community-driven harvest.
Potatoes
We grow four premium potato cultivars—Sifra, Lanorma, Mondial and Fabula — on a five-year rotation for healthy soil and maximum yield.
Each Wildeklawer crop reflects our commitment to quality and sustainable farming.
